Bullying in the classroom or a school is something that is never acceptable and needs to be dealt with at the source. Bullying is a touchy subject and should be talked about at a young age throughout the years of school. My belief on bully prevention in my classroom and school is to have every student ready and sign a bullying contract with the types of bullying and the consequences that come with the bullying. If you have or see the students doing this type of act then those will follow with the consequences that they sign off on. There are obviously different types of bullying so there will be different consequences depending on the severity. If I see it in my classroom, depending on the severity I will talk to both parties to see what is going on, the more sever it gets the more action I will take. Students need to be aware of the consequences of bullying and they also need to be active bystanders as well when being around other. The biggest key to all this is information and resources, if students know what to do and where to go when witnessing bullying, then we can solve these issues easier and faster than years past.
